Mark May & the Agitators announce that after a successful year touring and recording with the Dickey Betts Band, Mark has opted to focus his career on Mark May & the Agitators. Original Agitator guitarist Kirk McKim has also rejoined the band.

According to Mark, "I want to offer special thanks to Dickey Betts for the opportunity to play together and learn from him, as well as his help getting my career started. Rita and I also want to thank Donna Betts for everything. She’s a very gracious lady."

Mark wishes all the best to one of his good friends & mentors, “Dangerous”
Dan Toler, who is joining the Dickey Betts Band. “I hope Dan has as much fun and enrichment playing with Dickey, David Stoltz, Mark Greenberg, Matt Zeiner, Kris Jensen and Frankie Lombardi as I did. They are cream of the crop musicians.”

He also extends thanks to Bud Snyder, Tanner, Race Car, Bill Hardaway, and Carlos Rodriguez; “We are friends and family always!”

Mark May & the Agitators – Mark May, guitar, vocals; Kirk McKim, guitar, vocals; Dan Cooper, bass; and Greg Grubbs, drums - will release a new CD and tour in 2002. The CD includes “Place Your Betts”, a tribute to Dickey, as well as Dickey Betts playing funk and blues on 2 tracks.

Thanks to all the fans for their support. Hope to see you out at a Mark May & the Agitators show!

I wanted to mention my disappointment in this website. I placed an order for Mark May's "Dollmaker" CD, Paid for it via Paypal immediately and 30 days have passed and no CD yet. I have also left messages on the contact us portion of the website and have not received a message back. I think this is a poor way to do business and I am very disappointed. I have no CD and can't get a hold of anyone to give back my money.
This is not cool.............If someone out there can help me get a hold of these people it would be helpful. Thanks very much and I will NEVER Buy anything off this site again as they have not proved to be trustworthy. BAD WAY TO TREAT A FAN...............MidnightRida

I've had the pleasure of knowing, photographing and playing onstage with Mark May for the past eight years or so, each time they make it back to Ohio. We're looking forward to his appearance at The Creekside Blues Festival, 18 June '05, in Gahanna (a suburb of Columbus) Ohio. I was fortunate to catch him three different times with Dickey Betts (once from side/backstage). The three pictures on page 10 of the photo gallery dated 8/22/'02 of Mark and Dickey I shot at The Brick Yard in Columbus, Ohio.
Keep up the high standards --- CU further on down the road,

I used to live in Seabrook before my company transferred me to (Yecch) Michigan...it's nice for 6 months a year. I used to go see Mark 4-5 times per year in the 90's. Got to see him sit in for Dickey Betts with the Allman Brothers. What a show and what a compliment for Mark.

I was always blown away by his playing and bought him many beers. He offered to give me guitar lessons one time, it was a major mistake for me not to follow through, but I was slightly intimidated since I would have been a beginner learning from a maestro.

I recently picked up Doll Maker, yes they sell good blues in Michigan. I of course had his first two CD's and didn't know about Doll Maker because of limited exposure up here. MAN, What a piece of work. I've probably listened to it about 50 times in the last few months. My friends all say, Who IS this??? I tell them and they want to buy the CD too.

Keep it up Mark, and if you ever get a chance to play Michigan, I'll bring a crowd.
